Membership at The Grove

Church membership is about what you commit to give, not what you receive.

By becoming a member, you commit to walking with us on this journey of faith, supporting the church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

Five Commitments of Membership

Walking together in faith through prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness

Prayers

We intentionally hold the church, its members, and its mission in our daily conversations with God, asking for guidance, strength, and blessings upon our church.

Presence

Actively participating in worship services, fellowship, and church activities, embodying the communal aspect of our faith, and demonstrating our commitment to growing together in Christ.

Gifts

Intentionally giving our financial resources, no matter the amount, to support the church's ministries and mission, acknowledging that everything we have is a gift from God.

Service

Using our time and talents to serve within the church and the broader community, reflecting Jesus' call to serve others as an expression of love and faith in action.

Witness

Living out our faith in the world, sharing the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ through our words and actions, and inviting others to experience the transformative power of a relationship with God.

Joining Sunday

If you're ready to become a member, we invite you to participate in our next Joining Sunday. There will be a joining moment at the end of our regular 10 AM service where we will ask you to make your membership commitment.

Directly after service, we host our New Member Class. This class is for all new and new-ish members to learn more about the church and how to live into their membership commitments. Light refreshments and childcare birth to 5th grade is provided.

Membership Questions

Everything you need to know about joining The Grove

Who can become a member?

Membership is open to anyone who desires to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and is ready to commit to active participation in The Grove community.

What is required to become a member?

Being baptized and committing to active participation in the church community are the first steps to becoming a member.

Baptism marks the beginning of our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. In baptism, we are initiated into the Christian church and incorporated into the community of God's people, the body of Christ.

Those who have never been baptized will receive the sacrament of baptism before becoming members. Those previously baptized do not need to be baptized again and instead will reaffirm their baptism covenant as part of their membership vows.

What does membership commitment mean?

Membership at The Grove is not about what you get—it’s about what you give. When you become a member, you commit to support the church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. It’s a covenant to root your life in Christ and contribute to the mission God has given this church.
In return, The Grove commits to walk with you—to nurture your spiritual growth, provide opportunities for learning, fellowship, and outreach, and support you in your journey with God. Membership is a mutual commitment: we’re in this together, growing as disciples and living out God’s mission side by side.
