Membership at The Grove
What is membership at The Grove?
Membership means different things depending on what you are joining: a gym or studio, a country club, a society, or an association - in most instances, your membership is defined by what you receive.
Church membership works the opposite of this - membership to a church is about what you commit to give.
Becoming a member of The Grove is about formally committing to supporting the church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness - and then living out this commitment as part of our faith community.
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to anyone who desires to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ and is ready to commit to active participation in The Grove community.
What is required to become a member?
Being baptized and committing to active participation in the church community are the first steps to becoming a member.
Baptism marks the beginning of our lifelong journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. In baptism, we are initiated into the Christian church and incorporated into the community of God's people, the body of Christ.
Those who have never been baptized will receive the sacrament of baptism before becoming members. Those previously baptized do not need to be baptized again and instead will reaffirm their baptism covenant as part of their membership vows.
Membership is a special moment in the journey of faith, and we look forward to receiving you as members of The Grove.
Ready to become a member?
If you're ready to become a member, we invite you to participate in our next Joining Sunday. There will be a joining moment at the end of our regular 10 am service where we will ask you to make your membership commitment.
Directly after service on Joining Sunday, we host our New Member Class. This class is for all new and new-ish members to learn more about the church and how to live into their membership commitments. Light refreshments and KidCare is provided.
